‘Teen Mom’ Star Ryan Edwards Talks Relationship With Maci Bookout on ‘Teen Dads’

MTV decided to give the dads of their hit show Teen Mom a chance to speak in a special sit down interview with Dr. Drew onTeen DadsRyan Edwards talked about his relationship with Maci Bookout and what it would take for him to ever consider getting back together with the mother of his son, Bentley.
Ryan and Maci’s relationship didn’t result in happily ever after for them, but Ryan says he has nothing against Maci’s new boyfriend Kyle King.
“He’s there with Maci and he just seems like a good guy. I’ve never had any doubts or seen anything,” Ryan explained to Dr. Drew on MTV’s Teen Dads special. “He’s seems like a good guy and they’ve been together for awhile, so I hope it works out for them — I really do.”
And Ryan admitted that it would take a lot for him to even consider ever getting back together with Maci.
“I don’t know. I mean I’m not going to say ‘no’ because I don’t…but it would have to be like another life-changing experience for me.”
Ryan also told Dr. Drew that he’s not dating.
“I don’t need another mom,” he said. “I don’t need anybody telling me what I can and can’t do right now.”

Ryan confronts Maci about moving to Nashville
Maci  seemed fairly certain that she was ready to take a chance and move to Nashville -even though she worried Ryan wouldn't be OK with it Ultimately, her fear came true when Ryan threatened to take her to court if she left town with Bentley and went to Nashville .

Ryan talkes to his parents at the start of the show this week about trying to get a more 50-50 custody arrangement and they get more time with Bentley  seeing how currently  they only get him every other weekend and on Wednesday when Maci is in school . Then Ryan goes to take Bentley back to Maci and takes his girl friend   Catherine along for the ride.

And  she talks to Ryan about if he plans to talk to Maci about spending more time with Bentley he tells her "no it will just be a fight " however Ryan would like to get a day more a week to spend with him  then Catherine asks Bentley " you want to spend more time with us right ??" and Bentley says "yeah " don't really think that was her place she isnt married to Ryan there just dating it might be something a wife would say but a girl friend No . And then they get to Maci. And Ryan makes his request known she says  we will have to talk even though she had her own thing she wanted to talk about which was her moving to Nashville and since his request is enough for her she decides not to say anything yet .

Maci then goes the next day to talk to her good friend Taylor about what Ryan was asking for with Bentley and him wanting to change there custody arangment and that he wants another day a week like  Thursday and the fact that she hasnt told him yet of her plans to move. As far as Ryan goes she thinks that Ryan knows she is seeing someone in nashville and that the person lives out of town she just doesnt think he knows she plans to move there to be closer to Kyle and the fact that went Maci and Ryan went for child support that he is trying to get out of paying less support because they base how many days out the year Maci has Bentley verse's how many days Ryan has Bentley so she thinks he is trying to get out of paying more for in essence get more days with him so as to pay less for supporting him to pay her i belive the sum  of $234.00 a month he wants to get him more so as to pay less is what she tells her girlfriend Taylor and she tells Taylor also that she has not yet told him of her plans to move to Nashville either so as to be closer to Kyle

Maci text's Ryan to tell him that she is not going to change the custody arrangements while ryan is eating out with a group of friends and the girl friend Catherine and Ryan talks to his friends too about wanting to get more time with Bentley and Bentley needing his daddy more Ryan even talks to them about maybe taking her to court so that he can get more time with him cause he realizes that since she meaning Maci is the mom she could move like 5 hours away and there would be nothing he could do about it .

Ryan then goes to talk to lawyer and he talks to him about a DNA test which he says to him that he is not worried about that he knows that Bentley belongs to him but Ryan says what he is worried about is the mother Maci taking off and leaving state with his child yes because she does have a boy friend that doesn't live near were they both are and that he (meaning Kyle lives in Nashville ) and that happens to be about 120 miles from were they live and that if they were to put in a order that it would stop her from doing so with out the courts approval because of the legislation and that  if there is no court pending at least in court that he could in essence be getting the raw end of a deal here  and and since court is really expensive how does the non employed Ryan plans to put such a order in place and and if you don't have a court order and  that  since Maci has the majority of control and Ryan has very little that since Bentley is mostly with Maci that she in essence controls Bentley and in essence could also be in control of Ryan too and then the lawyer asks if his parents were planning to help him with getting such a action put in place and he says yes that they do that

Maci says that Ryan hasn't talked to her at all since she said that she is not going to change the custody arrangements at all and then Ryan shows her and tells her that he would like to go to mediation and that he would like to separate Bentley as such 3 days with him and 3 days with her and she says even if they go to mediation that he is not going to get any more than he already has and split him up like that  meaning Bentley up like that will be way to messy  and then he asks her if she plans to move to Nashville and she says Yeah and he says see that's why i am trying to do this then and then and Maci says well i guess we will have to go to court then but i really dont think your gonna get more time than what you already have cause your plan is messy with 3 days and 3 days  Ryan talks to his parents about it and he tells them that she plans on moving and that you really do need to pursue the legal actions so as to not move baby Bentley  that far away then and Maci talks to i believe her mom on the phone and why she should have even let Ryan act like a dad when he didn't even act like one for Bentley his whole first year and that her plans to move might now be ruined by Ryan while in complete and udder tears  feel free to tell me what you think thanks for reading

And next up on the agenda is Cate-lynn and the Prom Queen and i will be doing that blog sometime tomorrow for sure so as to finish up my week before the new show airs at 10 pm tomorrow night

Farrah takes mom to counsling

Farrah starts the show with meeting with her attorney for the case with her mom and finds out. That he has gotten a letter from Debra's attorney for the case. To say that she has paid her fine , done her community service project and has completed counseling. And that now she and Sofia are now safe to see her. nd they in his eyes both seem to have a stubborn streak and in order for things to simmer and get better they both need to work together and they both need to give and take a little more than they have in past for baby Sofia's sake if she wishes for her daughter to have a relationship with her grandparents.

Even though Farrah clearly  has lost the trust she used to be able to have with her mom. And she feels like her  mom just checked all the things off the check list to get to her baby and  just to see Sofia. And since she has started counsling of her own she decides for sofias sake that maybe she does need to give her mom a chance and try to patch things up with grandma Debra.

Even though Farrah and Debra have gone though a lot she sees a need for Sofia's sake to try and work things out with her so she calls  her mom.  And Farrah asks Debra to come with her to counseling so that  the counselor can help them work things out.Debra comes to counseling. And the counselor asks them both what they would both like to see happen ? Deba says that she and farrah used to be like best friends and that all she would like to see is for her daughter Farrah to be happy. Farrah says she is trying very hard to get back to a place were she is "happy " .

A few days later Farrah and her mom Debra meet for coffee after taking advice from both the counselor and the attorney for her side of the case and she and her mom talk about how she likes living on her own and they talk about potty training for Sofia. Debra tells her also that she and Micheal would really like to watch Sofia more now. And Farrah she plans to take them up on there offer and she said that only after she saw the way Debra and the way Sofia and her were interacting and singing the itsy bitsy spider she said that maybe both the counselor and her attorney were right and maybe they are doing the right thing  .

And if i had advice to give Farrah after what Debra did to both Sofia and Farrah i know if it was me i would still be cautious even though she was my mom and also say that Debra still has a lot of work ahead of her and that the trust that was lost  i think still needs regaining Debra going for coffee with her and going to counseling in no way still makes up for what she did and she still has trust she needs to regain with her i would still do as her attorney advised for them to do as to have some one else present for a long while and for her to stay with Sofia for a while when she is visiting grandma Debra because there still is the issue of regaining of trust to re build with her daughter Farrah  and grand daughter Sofia.

That she her self needs to work on not that Debra needs to have a continuous punishment for what she did but just so Farrah can re gain the trust she lost with her in Debra doing what she did i think a lot more activities like the coffee shop should continue to happen before Farrah should leave her daughter Sofia alone with Debra and Micheal too not that Micheal couldn't be left alone with her i am just saying feel free as always to tell me what you think i would love to hear from you

next up on my agenda for the blog is Maci,Kyle and Ryan and the arrangements for more time in all the right places so be looking forward to that one .

It's Amber's birthday

happy birthday to amber she has been feeling down since she failed her practice test  for the GED but  once awake this morning she is hoping  it will be a better day because its her birthday. Gary and Leah make mommy breakfast of pancakes and apples. Gary asks Amber what she wants to do for her birthday she says  " to go dancing with the chica's " and have some girl time. Gary agrees and says Ok  well then i will watch Leah so that you can do that then  .

Gary doesn't even attempt to spend a lot of time with Amber for her birthday though  but Gary and Leah do go shopping for a girft for mom Amber and Leah picks out her mom a teddy bear Gary then runs errands while she gets ready for her night out with the girls and takes his friend along for the ride for errands and then decides that he would like to go to Amber tells him no its her night off and she is going out with her girls he then tells her to find a babysitter then she says no gary that was not the deal you told me you were gonna watch Leah and they get into yet another fight a few phone calls later amber accidently hangs up on him with her cell phone which pisses off Gary and she tells her friends see he is trying to ruin my birthday plans cause now he wants me to find a baby sitter because he wants to go with her when that wasnt the plan from the get go trying to get there support and they are left sitting and waiting on Gary

And she tells him to once again come and get your shit once again but once he shows up he brings her a birthday cake which i don't even think they took the time to eat because Amber had made plans to go out with the girls and that is just want she intended to do they kiss and make up and she says to the girls lets go out and off to partying she goes to a under age club to hang with the girls Hope Amber had a great birthday even though her fighting with Gary wasn't her  highest moment she seemed over it pretty fast once he showed up though  feel free to tell me what you think i would love to hear from you

Maci contimplates moving to nashville to be with Kyle

Kyle and Maci in Nashville saying good bye
Maci and Kyle have now been seeing each other for a few months now.  And as we all know she has been traveling a lot to Nashville a lot  to see her new beau Kyle quite a bit. Kyle wants to be close to her and has given her the idea for her to move closer to him.So as to not have to keep traveling so much back and fourth so much he wants her to come and stay there. Were he is at as well as a lot of her friends from high school who moved that way to go to school too .

Maci and Kyle start off the show riding dirt bikes which is something that they both share in common and both seem to have a lot of fun doing together. Maci to me sees quite unsure as she is about moving to Nashville so she talks to some friends from back home from  her community college about what they think. And even checks with the community college to see what it would take she has only been in the community college for 3 semesters and didn't do so well the first 2 but did fine the last semester they tell her she could move and transfer and there shouldn't be any issue moving to Nashville has some things to defiantly consider.

Yes she will get to be with Kyle a lot more she will be closer to all her friends from high school but she will be two hours from Ryan her own family's support and not only Ryan but his support and his family as well and Maci talks to Kyle about her moving there as well he asks if she has told her parents yet since that seems to be

Something on Kyles mind and she tells him No but she says she thinks it just might be a possibly for her anyway. she also to me doesn't seem to considered with what Ryan or his family might think about what she is doing she also says she never sees her self away from Kyle and thinking she is in this one for sure in for the long haul i dont really know that the  timing is all right for her to leave not only her own family but Ryan's too even though they are no longer together and they both have seemed to have moved on  What he might think might need to be something she considers lets all not forget to tell me what you all think cause i would love to hear from you thanks

Catelynns step dad Butch gets ordered to court ordered rehab

At the first of the show regarding Cate Lynn and Tyler.Tyler gets advice from his dad Butch about what was going on between him and Cate Lynn and the phone record requesting even though that whole situation had gotten over to blown over by the time that Butch got to his side of trying to help his son Tyler Michigan State tells Butch that he has to go to court ordered rehab and Cate Lynn worries about at first how this is going to affect her boy friend Tyler.

Butch  tells Tyler about him being ordered in to court ordered rehab and tells Tyler that he is not sure how long that they are going to order him to stay there it will eigher be for 60 or 90 days (Cate Lynn hopes for the 90 days at first even though she doesn't know how it will affect the tornado that both she and Tyler will have to both live in so that her step dad Butch will get the help that he needs. Cate Lynn and Tyler talk about the mess they would both be in if they would have decided to keep there baby Carly. For little Carly i think they did the right thing they put both of there own needs for there child first instead of doing the opposite and keeping her

Butch then goes to rehab driven there by only Cate Lynn's mom April while both Cate Lynn and Tyler are both at school. Butch then tells the people who he first speaks with at rehab that he has been into cocaine Once both Cate Lynn and Tyler get home from school Catelynn askes Tyler how long he will be gone Tyler just tells her that he is over it he has just decided to accept Butch just the way that he is but to be honest maybe things might change but then again maybe they wont i think only time will tell.

Cate Lynn told us this week in the show that she feels like the only thing that keeps her mom April half way sane was her step dad Butch he helps to keep her balanced and now that he is gone things between her mom April and her gets a little heated Cate Lynn's mom April takes Butch being gone out on her saying " there suppose to be a family. And that Cate Lynn needs to come out of the closet which is her room and help them out. Or she can become a roommate and start paying rent.

After Cate Lynns spat with her mom April she calls boyfriend Tyler and he comes to rescue her for a bit and she talks to Tylers mom and gets a bit of solace from her because at one time Tylers mom was once married to him too. Dont really know how long Cate Lynn stays with Tyler but then Tyler takes her home and Cate Lynn decides she is going to try her best to make effort and make it work with her mom April by doing some dishes and cleaning her room. April says thanks and then askes if they should order pizza for dinner even though April is still holding some bits of anger toward her daughter while writing her hubby butch who sits in court ordered rehab .

Talkin’ Babies With Maci from MTV’s Teen Mom

The new season of Teen Mom premiers tonight at 10 PM on MTV and this CollegeCandy intern couldn’t be more excited. Not only do we get to find out if Amber’s havin’ another baby, but I had the chance to chat with everyone’s favorite mama, Maci. She filled me in on how her life has changed since she moved from Chattanooga, Bentley started talking up a storm, and even gave the CollegeCandy readers some invaluable dating advice. Oh, and she’s got a new man (who seems like a much better fit than her ex-fiance, Ryan). Yay, Maci!
Our convo is below, but if you want the really juicy deetz, you’ll just have to tune in tonight and find out for yourself!
CC: So, season 2! So exciting! What are you looking forward to most this season?
Maci: Honestly, to just kind of see and backtrack. After watching the first two seasons and reliving it I’ve learned a lot about myself and I’ve seen how I can do better… things that I’ve done wrong and things that I’ve done right. I’m interested in seeing what the other girls are up to because we don’t get to talk as much as normal friends! I want to see what’s going on in their lives too.
Do you guys keep in touch outside of the show or just at things like the reunion episodes?
No, I do talk to the girls on, like, a regular basis. A couple of times a month we check in with each other and see how things are going.
Which Teen Mom are you closest with?
Caitlin, probably.
How is your life different now that you’ve been a mom for over a year?
Oh my god, so different. Bentley’s big now so we can go play. Go to different parks and stuff. When he was little he really didn’t do anything but sleep but it’s been crazy. There’s something new every day.
What do you want others – other teen moms, teens in general, college students – to get out of the show?  Specifically, the upcoming season?
I want people that aren’t pregnant to really see the struggles that we go through. I want the show to be pretty much like birth control, kind of. I want them to see what happens when you do get pregnant at a young age. I want grown-ups to see that talking to your kids about sex is a good thing and it can prevent their children from going through what we’re going through. So, I just want it to be educational and I feel like it’s doing a very good job so far.
What is the biggest sacrifice you had to make because you got pregnant when you were so young?
My youth. Being a teenager and having a college life. Being able to hang out with my friends every day. Having responsibility but not having the normal responsibilities of a teenager. Really just my youth. Being a kid, I guess.
Was it worth it?
Yeah, it’s definitely been worth it. I would never trade… as bad as it sounds, I love my friends (laughing), [but] I would never trade a night with Bentley for a night with them.
Have you had a favorite moment or thing that Bentley’s done so far?
Um, probably just talking. He has his own little personality. He talks now and he’s just a little person that’s with me all the time. That’s fun.
How do you balance out being a teenager with being a parent?
I really just have to keep my priorities in line. I’m still friends with all the people I was friends with before I got pregnant but I have to know that Bentley comes first and then school and then work and then doing stuff with my friends. It’s easy, well it’s not easy, but it’s easier to do it if you know what priorities are more important than other ones. That’s what I have to keep in mind… what’s important.
Previews for this season have shown that you have started dating again, how has that been going?
It’s good! I’m happier now and he’s good with Bentley.
Oh… so there’s one guy!
Yes, there’s one guy. I really didn’t date much after Ryan. He’s the first guy that I’ve been dating since. It’s a lot easier now to have the support of him rather than kind of the stressful relationship that I had with Ryan.
Did he know right away that you had Bentley? How did you address that?
Yeah, he knew. We’ve been friends for a really, really long time. So he knew what was all going on and he knew about the baby and stuff like that so that made it easy too that he already knew.
Do you have any advice for teen moms that are trying to date?
Just really make sure to pick someone that’s worth being around you and your baby, and someone that knows the responsibility you have. Really just somebody who is going to support you and help you rather than bring things into your life that you don’t need to deal with. And you don’t NEED to date. I don’t think if I hadn’t found Kyle I would be dating. It’s not something that should really be important right now. If you find somebody, that’s great but I really don’t think it’s something single moms really need to be looking for, especially because it takes away your time from being a mom.
What is the best dating advice that you’ve received?
That I need to find somebody who is my best friend before someone that I am just physically attracted to. Things work out a lot better when you are friends before a boyfriend that you just think is cute.
I know you said before that you watch the show. Has it been weird for you to look back and see yourself?
It is weird to see things that you forget that happened or, at the time, you didn’t think they were that important. When I watch the show I see things that I would have forgotten. And it brings me back into that time.
Do you have any advice for the other moms after watching their scenes with their baby?
Not really. We’ve kind of been really good at what their problems are. Because in the show we all have different struggles and we’re all dealing with different things. I think everybody is doing well with dealing with what their struggles are.
A lot of people think that out of all the teen moms you have the best head on your shoulders. Do you have anyone to thank for that? Does that have to do with how you were raised or that you were okay with putting aside your friends and just really focusing on Bentley?
I think it was honestly just because of the way that I was raised. I guess if I had to thank anybody it would have to be my parents just because my whole life they taught me that if I get in a situation or if I get in trouble that it’s my responsibility and I have to deal with it. And if I need them, they will be there as much as I need them but it is my responsibility and I have to do what is right. And since I was raised that way, as soon as I found out I was pregnant I knew instantly that it was my responsibility that I was gonna have to do the right thing and do the best I could. Even though I knew my parents would be there to help me, they weren’t going to be there to take the responsibility for me. And I’m glad they raised me that way.
What would you tell girls who are in situation like you were?
To really think about how their life has been and what they want to do for their child. For me, I never had to think about adoption. But there are some people, like Caitlin and Tyler, who don’t have this ability to have a baby. And they made an amazing choice for adoption and I think girls really need to look at all the options and know what they have in their lives so that they can give the same thing to their baby.
This is a question that I have to ask… do you now practice safe sex and use birth control?
Do I now? Yes I do.

MTV Teen Mom: Interview with Morgan J. Freeman

Director Of MTV Teen Mom
REMEMBERING the glory days is easy, but Morgan J. Freeman remembers the nadir just as clearly. It was March 2003, and he had traded in his house in the Echo Park section of Los Angeles for his old room in his parents’ house in nearby Long Beach. Hollywood had shredded Mr. Freeman to bits, and this indie director was ready to head back to New York, where he’d last been a success.

One last wild night couldn’t hurt, right?

He slept through his flight and woke up to derision. “I just remember my mom, the way she looked at me that day,” he said recently, during an interview on the High Line, near his West Village office. “Like, at 33, this is how I showed up.”

At 27, he’d been doing far better. The first feature he directed, “Hurricane Streets,” a story of the tension between morality and reality as seen through the lens of a headstrong and streetwise New York teenager, had been the first dramatic film to win three awards at Sundance: the audience favorite, as well as prizes for directing and cinematography.

But Mr. Freeman had burned hot and fast, never again approaching the acclaim of his Hollywood debut. It took submergence in another world altogether for him to get his resurrection. Now 40, he is the executive producer of “16 and Pregnant” and “Teen Mom,” tandem docu-series that have helped reposition MTV’s reality slate from tracking the lives of the young, beautiful and rich to capturing the lives of the young, beautiful and resilient.

Though the medium may be different and the subjects real, it’s a full-circle move for Mr. Freeman, whose early characters were just the sort who could have ended up on a show like “16 and Pregnant,” cocksure and naïve, not inclined to make bad decisions so much as unsure of how to avoid them.

Marcus, the protagonist of “Hurricane Streets,” evolved from a character Mr. Freeman had originally written based on his own mischievous childhood antics. He met Brendan Sexton III, the actor who would give the role intense life, on the set of “Welcome to the Dollhouse,” the Todd Solondz film that won the 1996 Grand Jury Prize at Sundance. Mr. Freeman had hustled his way from production assistant to second assistant director on that film, in charge of supervising its young stars, Heather Matarazzo and Mr. Sexton.

“He was genuinely interested in my thoughts and what I had to say,” said Mr. Sexton, who remains close to Mr. Freeman.

From “Dollhouse,” Mr. Freeman — not to be confused with Morgan Freeman, the actor — took a charmed, fast path to “Hurricane Streets,” quickly securing an initial $60,000 in financing and shooting over a few weeks in the summer of 1995. “I loved ‘400 Blows,’ all the antihero kind of movies,” said Mr. Freeman, who was still attending film school at New York University while he was shooting “Hurricane” in and around downtown Manhattan. When the film won at Sundance, though, Mr. Freeman was no longer just a film student with outsized ambition and ego.

“It was like ‘Entourage’ was starting,” he said. “I really had a sense that I’d arrived, and I was going to do it my way. I wouldn’t even go in and take certain meetings. I was so set I was going to be Woody Allen, Quentin Tarantino. I was only going to direct what I wrote.” It was the height of the independent film movement, and thumbing one’s nose at standard Hollywood practices seemed like a potentially viable career route.

“It went to all of our heads,” Mr. Sexton said. “He and I both suffered from a combination of arrogance and naïveté.” (“Hurricane Streets” remains an artifact of the day: it’s never been available on DVD or on any online streaming site.)

Mr. Freeman’s follow-up film, “Desert Blue,” had an undercooked script and was rejected from Sundance, the first sign of gloom on the horizon. “You don’t get to make a second film twice,” Mr. Freeman said. He had no third script, but “at this point,” he admitted, “people weren’t very interested in financing my ideas.” Neither of his first two films had been commercial successes. At the same time he was falling in with a fast Hollywood crowd: “the right clubs with the right people at the table.” He was publicly linked with the actress Michelle Williams, then a star of “Dawson’s Creek,” on which he’d worked briefly.

Over the next couple of years everything crumbled. His relationships were unhappy. His representation cut him loose. He struggled with substance abuse. “You never knew what you got when you invited me places,” he said. “You invite me to your graduation, I may show up and throw up on someone, or I may not show up.”

Concerned e-mails were exchanged among Mr. Freeman’s family, colleagues and close friends. His brother, who was beginning his own family, told him he wouldn’t be welcome around the dinner table. Mr. Sexton finally confronted Mr. Freeman on his misbehavior “after we’d both crashed and burned some more,” letting him know, “We’ll help you get well if you want to get well.”

A happenstance meeting led Mr. Freeman to MTV, as a director on the first season of “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County,” the pioneering reality-soap about the indolent, suntanned youth of Southern California, during which he helped shape that show’s visual grammar: cool, spacious and patient. He was also an executive producer on the “Up” series by the British documentarian Michael Apted and one season of “Maui Fever,” about surfers in Hawaii.

“He was young, had a maverick eye and knew how to bridge the gap between vérité and cinematic film language,” said Tony DiSanto, MTV’s president for programming.

By comparison “16 and Pregnant,” about young moms-to-be and “Teen Mom” are rougher around the edges, an evolution for an audience perhaps fatigued with the visual flawlessness of the earlier shows. Mr. Freeman is an executive producer on both shows (through his company, 11th Street Productions), no longer a director, though he still aspires to bring some of his old filmic impulses to the show: “I like to get nice establishing shots and cutaway details and to build a richness in the story.”

The second season of “16 and Pregnant” averaged 2.4 million viewers per episode. “Teen Mom,” which follows the lives of four women who initially appeared in the premiere season of “16 and Pregnant,” has averaged 3.3 million viewers per episode this season. It has also emerged as a surprising pop-cultural phenomenon: Two of its stars, Farrah and Maci, were on the cover of Us Weekly this month, grinning and hoisting their toddlers high.

The shows have become “an unexpected franchise,” Mr. DiSanto said, noting that initially, the network felt “16 and Pregnant” would be driven more by concept than casting. But now that some of the mothers have graduated to “Teen Mom,” that show is “almost becoming ‘The Hills,’ a cast-driven show,” he said. (This season of “Teen Mom” will conclude next month, and the third season of “16 and Pregnant,” with a new cast, is scheduled to begin in October.)

Mr. Freeman has become attached to the shows’ stars, even envisioning the possibility of sticking with these young women through motherhood’s various stages — “first words, first walks, first conversations “ — in the spirit of the “Up” series. “It would be amazing for Morgan to be the guy to bring the Apted thing to MTV,” Mr. DiSanto said.

Barring that Mr. Freeman sees many untapped teenage stories yet to be told. “Can we shine a light on truancy? Can we shine the light on the dropout rate?”

Mr. Sexton said that the teenage years are a natural milieu for Mr. Freeman. “He’s a jubilant, exuberant, youthful person,” he said. “He respects teenagers and respects them as a voice.”

And now Mr. Freeman is finally equipped to handle success. “I have two shows that are working,” he said. “I don’t take that lightly.” He has a place in Brooklyn with a backyard. He’s in a healthy relationship. “I feel like I should go buy a briefcase,” he said.

“What a travesty my life would have been if those had been hits,” he continued, speaking of his early films. “I would be dead.”

VIDEO: Tyler Will Do His Easter Basket, And Catelynn Will Do Hers.

We were relieved to see Catelynn come completely clean to Tyler about her ex-boyfriend on this week's episode of "Teen Mom." While Ty considered making some less-than-mature decisions (like wanting to go through her phone records), he ultimately made a personal breakthrough by deciding to stop allowing his childhood pain affect his current relationship. Hopefully that's what the two need to move forward together.

Check out this bonus scene for the episode, where Tyler seems annoyed at the thought of visiting the adoption agency with Catelynn. Even though he's very excited to see photos of their daughter, Carly, the experience might actually be eclipsed by his anger.

Interview With A Teen Dad: Tyler Opens Up About Love And Loss

The original focus of "Teen Mom" was to highlight the ups and downs young women face when raising a child born from an unexpected pregnancy, but since the series first aired, we've also gotten a unique opportunity to see the babies' dads struggle to find their own place in this brave, new world. One such dad is Tyler, who together with his girlfriend Catelynn made the heartbreaking decision of planning an open adoption for their daughter Carly.

Since Season 1, we've caught many glimpses of Tyler's sadness and confusion, but it's his supportiveness of Catelynn that's attracted the most attention on "Teen Mom" -- that is, until lately. As Season 2 moves forward, fans of the show are witnessing Ty's delayed acceptance and unresolved resentment as he finally begins to explore his own raw emotions, which is why we thought it was time to sit down with him for a personal interview.

Below, watch two clips from SuChin Pak's one-on-one with the sweet, caring father/fiance we've all grown to love. In the first video, Tyler explains that he's come to terms with his own father's weaknesses and limitations, which has put his mind at peace. In the second, he describes his selfless dream for Carly.

MTV's Teen Mom: Episode 5 Recap "Secrets and Lies"

Last night's episode 5 of MTV's hit show, Teen Mom, was filled with challenges, arguments, and new love. The episode was was cleverly titled "Secrets and Lies." Oh and of course there were secrets and lies (read: Amber). Here's what went down.

Maci, Bentley's mom, introduced her son to Kyle, her new boyfriend. At first Bentley was extremely shy hiding behind a couch, but he eventually warmed up to Kyle. Before you knew it he was giving him kisses and in a preview for next week he called Kyle "da-da." Uh oh, Ryan. Maci seems to be approaching the relationship like an adult and is upfront with Kyle about what he is signing up for. Despite everything, Kyle seems to really care about Maci and the couple seems pretty serious. Hopefully Bentley is more like his mother than his father. Check out what Maci has to say during the MTV aftershow.

Farrah and her daughter, Sophia are struggling to get by. Farrah is determined more than ever to support her family alone and last night she learned the hard way. She decided to sell her car and ended up getting scammed $3,000. She broke down to her friend Christina and confessed how stupid she felt and how this is all such a struggle. She said, "I'm not used to all this." Farrah is strong willed to make things work, but at what cost? Sophia seems to get the cold shoulder from her over-worked and stressed mama. Maybe Farrah should consider reuniting with her parents.

Katelyn and Tyler received new pictures of their adopted daughter, Carly. The couple still seem so attached to their daughter and really miss her. Tyler kept accusing Katelyn of lying and demanded to see her cell phone records. Katelyn seemed pretty torn up the whole episode and Tyler finally decided that he needs to trust her and that he has his own issues he's struggling with. These two have been on a rocky road lately, but them seem to be in it for the long run.

Gary and Amber. Ah, this couple can be described in one word - dysfunctional. Amber constantly fights with Gary and he can never do enough. For Easter she had him dress up as the Easter bunny for Leah and she was constantly nagging him to suck it up. But the weird part was that Gary wasn't complaining. The couple told Gary's family that they are engaged for the third time and when his family wasn't too pleased (hm, wonder why) Amber walked out. Classy. There's no doubt that these two will argue forever, yet they can't seem to end things. Poor Leah sees and hears all the fights which can't be a great foundation for a childhood.
Teen Mom really gives viewers an inside look at parenthood. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Last night's episode was another A+ in my book.

I hope every one is rooting for this couple like me: Catelynn and Tyler

Catelynn and Tyler look like there relationship is seriously on some rocky ground this week. On teen mom and I think Catelynn thought that it was seriously going to end at some point soon. Because of the way that Tyler the one who was so strong for her in the past got really mean towards her. By  first asking her for phone records from three years back.  Since she talked to the ex boy friend in Florida lots of tears were shed this week from Catelynn because of the way Tyler  treated her.

And Catelynn chatted the Tyler about the phone records and she told him that she talked to the ex in Flordia a total of only twice but that she also tried 6 times to talk to he and her got into a heated conversation were it ends in Tyler leaving the room after Catelynn trys bringing in the baby carylee into it thats when Tyler i guess decides he has had enough and walks out .

Catelynn then talks to the counselor that they have been seeing about what was going on because she was hurting so bad and she couldn't talk to her mom about it cause her mom was in a bad mood. And Catelynn tells the counselor that he has requested her to give him phone records she also told her that  Tyler has been being really mean to her and texting her mean things to her telling her that the sight of her disgusts him and that she tried to sit down and talk to him about everything that was going on. And then  she got some encouraging words from the counselor telling her to hang in there and things will get better and that maybe she needs to back off a little and give him a little space to breath its obvious that he still wants to be with her other wise they wouldn't be seeing her.

Catelynn and Tyler then get some Easter Baskets to send to there daughter and they get to see new photos of her and Catelynn then tells her mom that she wants to try and talk to him again about the phone records but she says she is not going to push it . Catelynn then gets the phone records from the phone company that Tyler  requested from her and Tyler has a nice conversation with his mom outside in the back yard and though that conversation comes to realize that he really does love Catelynn. And Catelynn worries about giving the records to Tyler considering how mean he has been to her and the fact that he is what she says is so mad at her and he texts to tell her that he is sorry and that he really does love her and he requests to see her And she gives him the phone records which since he has told her sorry they end up kissing and making up and tyler shreds and throws the records  out into the water .

And tells her that he is going to do his best to trust her and have the faith in her that he knew was there for her all along i think tyler may need to go in to some of his own counsling because of the things that seem to bother him about his and his dads realionship does anyone eles feel this way cause when he was talking to his mom he expressed thoughts there with his and his dads reaionship so maybe that is gonna need some work in the near future for Tyler some how i have noticed that every time he talks about him and Catelynn and the things going on with them some how his dad alawys gets brought into that too not really sure what this is all about but just some thoughts from me and wondering what its all about  feel free to tell me what you think would love to hear from you
